Our work process
All Antrop's consultants are experts in creating high quality and easy to use web sites, intranets and computer applications, using our own goal-oriented research and design method. This method is based on the assumption that the business benefits that a IT project generates are directly correlated to how well the system supports the users who are going to use it.
Goal-directed design
The first step in developing a new system is to define the business goals for the project as well as prioritised target groups and their usage goals. These goals are then used to focus the rest of the project. Requirements from both an organisational and user perspective are identified and put together in a detailed specification for the new system.
The results from a goal-directed design project are often used a a basis for choosing technical solutions or suppliers. The results are also used to gain approval for the development project within the organisation.
Requirements capture
We capture requirements from the organisation and for prioritised target groups using methods such as observations, interviews, surveys and workshops. The collected data is analysed and personas are created describing the different target groups and their goals in relation to the system. Using the personas, requirements for the new system can then easily be identified and prioritised.
Interaction design
Identified requirements are further detailed and visualised in an iterative processing working from alterantive conceptual sketches to more and more detailed sketches and interactive prototypes. During this phase of the project we continuously evaluate the concept and interaction design from an organisational, technical and user perspective. By evaluation sketches and prototypes with users it is possible to identify and solve possible usage problems, which would otherwise have gone through to the technical development.
Technical development
The resulting detailed requirements specification which includes an evaluated prototype constitutes a solid basis for the technical development of the system. Our method for goal-directed design also provides a good picture of why certain requirements and solutions have been chosen. If changes needs to be made during the technical development, for instance because of technical constraints, it is easy to make wellfounded decisions and reprioritisations.
